Default X-pipe purchased

The width has to be altered. The pipes that connect to the X itself will be cut about 4 inches where they meet the x, that will decrease the width.
The pipe is 2.25 which is the size of my 99 A8 exhaust. As you can see hardware is included, the best part was the price, $67.00 at Summit Racing.
For those of you interested the part # is 642122 and it's a Universal X-pipe.
Actually it's a small balance pipe.

Default What's the benefit of this setup vs. stock?

Looks like the diameter of the pipe is the same as stock, so your're really not geting any more flow out of it.

Is that x-pipe made of SS, or normal steel?

Default The HP advantage of a flat crank from Audi's dual-plane crank plus ...

... a quieter and smoother exhaust note. A Search will show many satisfied x-pipe users.

Very interesting. I never considered the firing order a factor when examining exhaust notes.

I like the X pipe from Magna Flow better. Stainless steel and the design allows the original exhaust to maintain its close parallel design. Good price too.

I think the Magnaflow unit is the one that causes the cats to touch. I'm not sure though.
