Finished off everything with the Nav Plus RNS-E with exception of:
Hooking up bluetooth module (which I don't have), but all the wiring is in the trunk.
Hooking up Multi function steering wheel (MFSW), but I need the control module and a few other pieces, that will be a pretty serious mod in itself.
Ted's plug and play wiring harness made it sooooo easy. It was still A LOT of work, spent probably 8 or more hours on it....but I really tried to go slow to prevent mistakes. I have one problem with the CAN bus, but it works on a single wire for now.
The factory XM module is hooked up in the trunk....I can tune it through the RNS-E. If I add a XM channel to my presets, it's very cool, can have AM, FM and XM channels all next to each other in the presets. So you don't have to switch between XM and FM, just pick your preset and it does it for you.
The antenna is a Terk XM3 antenna that is no longer produced, got it from amazon, somebody was selling it new....
Here it is in the trunk upside down....it is sitting right next to the ski sack....

For my entire install I needed to make four connections....two in the trunk for the XM tuner power supply, just used insulation displacement connectors on the Bose amplifier wiring in the trunk (below) and the two can bus wires into the instrument cluster....the rest was plug and play.
<img src="http://www.audipages.com/upgrades/sm_IMG_1718.JPG">
And the amp is reinstalled....

I put the XM antenna under the hat shelf....not much room there with the window shade in place.....if you have a pre facelift car with hot weather package I do not believe this will work for you. On my 97 I had it painted car color and mounted it on the trunk, looked cool. But one thing I love about the S8 is there is not one exposed antenna.
I had the rear seat out to run the wiring, and since the XM3 antenna is so big, I had to slightly raise the hat shelf up to squeeze it from the Bose speaker opening to it's final place.....I'm pretty sure the XM commander antenna could be easily slid from the speaker to its final place in the trunk without moving anything on the hat shelf because it is much thinner.
So I took two of the three child seat? connectors off.....and the driver's side body pin holding the hat shelf in place behind the seat....
<img src="http://www.audipages.com/upgrades/sm_IMG_1724.JPG">
From the trunk, take off the cover under the bose speaker.....unscrew the two Bose speaker screws and push it up into the cabin.....I also loosened the 3 10mm nuts holding the sunshade in place so the hat shelf would move up about 1/2" or so.....
Then I slide the antenna in from the speaker opening over to this other opening that is just inboard of the speaker....
Bose speaker is on left, the child seat anchor is the thing in the middle, and there is that little cubby that I tie wrapped the XM antenna into.....
<img src="http://www.audipages.com/upgrades/sm_IMG_1726.JPG">
I then pulled the antenna wires through (not shown) and routed them to the driver's side of the trunk to the XM module...
It works like a champ.....
I mounted the XM module to the back of the CD player mount (Ted made a harness so I can keep the CD player and have XM, needed a special cable from Crutchfield for that).....

Here it is all hooked up before installation...if I ever want to unhook the wires, just unbolt the four screws that hold the bracket in place.
<img src="http://www.audipages.com/upgrades/sm_IMG_1729.JPG">
Everything back in place....all the wiring is under the bracket.....

When I get the bluetooth module, I just plug the 25 pin connectors together (right now one has TAGA8's jumper installed) and the other connector is the factory connector to the bluetooth....and the CAN and K line are also integrated into the harness.....

Hey, did you ever know that you might have a center headrest? I didn't...
<img src="http://www.audipages.com/upgrades/sm_IMG_1734.JPG">
And you need to take these two screws out to get the seat back off which was not required in my 97.....

My car was totally torn apart this weekend.....nothing like taking your car apart as soon as you get it!

...so everyone could see the amount of work went into a complete dash-to-trunk harness of this caliber.
