Default XM Install - New Method!!

It's a speical adapter that makes your XM work thru the CD changer without the FM modulator. Sounds interesting- has anyone tried it??

http://www.blitzsafe.com/blitz_catalog/blitz_xm/blitz_xminstallnotes/inst_audixm_dmxv1/inst_audixm_dmxv1.html</a

Default Wondering if 03 S8 has that connection?

I have XM in my Avalanche and really like it.

Default If you have a Symphony radio, that's the way to go. With Concert radios, you lose your CD

if you do this. With Concert, you only have the CD changer, no in-dash CD. And the XM on Blitzsafe kills that, you can't hang the CD changer and the XM off of the Blitzsafe.

And S8-Mac, the answer is "almost certainly". And I see you took my name update advice. ;-)

Default Did you price out the complete solution yet?

I was looking at the site for a moment, couldn't really find any numbers. There appears to be a lot of info there but the site could really use a redesign.

Looks like they want you to go to the local dealer for questions, pricing, etc.

Default Re: Did you price out the complete solution yet?

No, I installed one.

For me, $100 for Pioneer XM, $50 for XM antenna, $26 for some antenna converters, ~$10 for misc. other stuff like spiral wrap and crimp connectors and such.

For a Symphony install, delete the antenna converters, add the Blitzsafe harness.

I did a self install. There's a draft procedure on the Yahoo A8 site. I really need to sit down for an hour and finish the write up, but the fore-and-aft wire routing instructions are there.
