I was on the market for an SUV. Toureg, XC90 etc., looked at everything. I was very skeptical about American SUV. I hated everything until I sat in Dodge Durango Limited all options and a monster HEMI engine. It is great. I am not a fan of American cars but Mercedes Benz really gave a positive influence on Chrysler. Plastics and aluminum trim on limited are nice. The lower trim levels are sloppy. Ride is an amazing, plenty of power 330HP 370 torque, NAV, DVD entertainment, MP3, Bluetooth phone, and a ton more amazing little gizmos. Everything is so user friendly and works great. Third row seats are suitable for adults. It cost me $20 more a month more than my PASSAT. Amazing

Default What are resale values like? That's what usually keeps me away from American brands.

I thought Audi's were dismal until my father in law tried to trade in his GMC! That was eye opening. They wanted him to roll almost 8 grand of his current finance into the new truck ... of course they offset that with "incentives" on the new one. But still.

Default i think a pile of durango year models were just recalled werent they?

something about airbags randomly going off and steering malfunction- loss of all control.
and wasnt there something about the cruise control switch causing the cars to catch fire?

Default Can I ask what kind of lease deal you got? I was actually looking at one too.

Same exact shopping you were doing, Tourag, XC90, 4Runner, new Pathfinder (wasn't going to consider the X5 or ML ... dealers around here play golden nugget with those). Wasn't going to consider american brands just because other family members have gotten burned so bad in the past.

I just don't know if I can keep the mileage low enough for a lease ... too much commuting around here.
