Hello All,
I removed the 7 screws across the top, the front section of the driver's side wheel liner, the three 10mm nuts, then gently pulled out the bumper from the driver side, plenty of room to access the G65 .
I also upgraded the fog lights....
What a pita, 100% NOT plug and play.

It's nice not to have to remove the other side... Are you sure the bumper doesn't put any kind of strain on the 3 bolts on the other side?
Did you ever fix your problem? I have exactly the same problem on my A3 8P tfsi.
Hi
I'm new at the forum and I'm also having the same symphomts on my A3 sportback from 2006.
Some months ago the A/C stopped working in a pair of times (the ECON mode was stucked at the ON position) however it recovered by itself. Then there was a third time and it never recovered so since that day the A/C is never turning on and the ECON button is always stuckeda at the ON position.
The VAG checkings showed the following:
So if you check the first error code it shows 00819 "High presure sensor short to grown"
The second error 01809 has to be with the flaps motor (driver side) interior air vent which seems to be stucked or broken.
The third one 01273 is related with the HAVOC which seems to be related with the main fan from the HAVOC which sometimes it doesn't work and after several minutes it starts working.
My mechanic doesn't have skills and knowledge to fix the issue so I will try to do it by myself.
In my case, the air conditioning compressor died. I replaced it and now it works. First try to re-gas, if it still doesn't work then try to connect the compressor directly to the battery, if it does not start, it needs to be replaced.

thanks for the reply, my mechanic tested the compressor and he told me it is fine, the issue is related with G65 sensor and also with the HAVOC.
Then, it's probably just pressure sensor switch. For audi a3, part number is 1K0959126E and it's cheap and very easy to replace.
I hope so.... I was looking for the tools to replace it because as far as I see you must dismantle the pump or the front right wheel to have some access to it.
However there maybe with something like this tool I will be able to take it off and replace it by the new one.
