Our 2005 A8 has a defective/dim/whatever right side headlight. Which of the bulbs can be replaced without tearing the right front side of car apart? I'd like to replace all the bulbs on that side while I'm in there. These are halogen, early 05 build car.
Would like to be able to run the passing lights but that involves getting into the computer and I don't have ac unit to access that .

. Thought I found a thread but can't locate it now. If someone could have pointed me in the right direction it would have been greatly appreciated.Have the headlite partially removed, have a bulb coming in tomorrow. Bottom line, I figured it out by myself. I guess that's the way to do it.

Hello Signut,
I put your exact same title (05 A8 Headlight Bulb Replacement) into the search box, and in a fraction of a second I had the following result located on page 2 of search results, if you are just changing the headlight bulb, then just pull the inner fender liner, if you want to remove the entire headlight assembly without trying to wrestle it out, then you remove the bumper as shown in the second link.
Wish I had seen your thread sooner....

Welcome, Signut.
Are we talking the outermost of the two headlamp bulbs? If so, they are HID not halogen. They function as high AND low beam with a mechanical "shutter". The inner halogen bulbs are just for flash-to-pass (because HID lights don't light immediately, and each ignition of the bulb shortens the bulb's life). This is assuming your car is coded for USA. (fill in your location in the user CP).
If you have a dim bulb it's most likely the HID bulb ($$$) not the halogen
Good luck with it!
