HI Everyone-
New to this forum and new to A8, although had an S4 before this...love the A8 so far but I know I am in for some service issues soon, relating to the air suspension, mostly.
SInce I have several issues, I thought I would separate the threads..in this thread just keep it to the air suspension.
Summary: I have a g290 overtemp fault logged (checked using vcds).
The suspension seesm to operate fine and I have no "grey outs" on the MMI/car menu.
Question 1:
When I shut off the car, and lock it, the suspension hisses and settles to a lower position, even though I had been driving in dynamic. It drops the front an inch or so, then drops the back.
Is this normal behavior?
Question 2: The g290 sensor fault is open or short to positive.
I found a replacement g290 sensor en ebay; it loks a little like a battery cable alomst..this must have a thermo sensor in the end that scews to the cylinfer head of the air compressor.
Has anyone tried just changing this sensor/cable?
Thanks in advance!

Welcome caballo77 !
A1: Mine does the same thing. Sometimes dropping more if I go back to open the car if I forgot something and then re-lock it.
A2: Haven't changed it, but this here is some more info on it http://www.audi-portal.com/en/diagno...ors_17153.html

Q1 is because you and maybe others got out the car and so the suspension has risen and may also be lopsided. It now resets the level and height before sleep mode.

Jake and Snapdragon- thanks for the response.
Looking at the sensor in the link you sent, it seems to imply that it could be replaced separately from the compressor assembly..I might give that a try.
Snapdragon- yes, I am sure you have it correctly...when I observed the most activity was indeed after hauling extra people in the car and that would explain the level adjustment on shut-down...
