When I try to close my sunroof, it closes 1/2 way then goes back to fully open, like its hittin something and reverses. If I close it alittle at a time I can get it closed. Anybody have a similar problem? Thanks in advance...Flats

You could try cleaning the rotary selector switch first, it would be DIY-able. Get Deoxit from Amazon or RadioShack.
(I have decided the clean/lube of the rails to be a dealer job because it's reportedly hard to align).
I would think if it's detecting an obstacle (real or malfunction) it would not close when you did the switch a little at a time.
If it won't close and you need it to, this can be accomplished be holding the switch up while it closes (on the 2004 at least), of course you know that since we have all memorized the entire 600-page manual.![Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)](https://www.audiworld.com/forums/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif)

I suspect your problem could be the wind deflector. Having just worked on my roof, and experienced a similar thing (cured
), it's likely that your wind deflector isn't retracting properly/smoothly. The deflector itself is just spring loaded, the springs keep it up, but it should be very free moving.
I'd advise lubing the pivot points for the deflector, the pivot points of the deflector actuator arms (plastic arms between deflector and front 'wall' of sunroof aperture), and lube where the deflector actuator 'cam' thingy (technical term) goes through those arms (you'll see it all). As for the rail, just white lithium grease and a few runs back and forth should be all you need.
Basically you're triggering the load sensor (put in so you can't 'accidentally' cut mother in law's head off with the sunroof
) and the roof is retracting, just like the windows do/should...
