Im looking at an Ad for an 07 4.2 V8 owner say it needs Valves and spring on 1 cylinder (one cylinder has slightly bent valves)
dont know this engine very well but
arent these 0 tolerance engines
whats involved here?

Well, it has to be asked where you are located and which engine the car has! No car should have bent valves, something very wrong happened, and honestly, I'd say either find a different car or assume it needs a new motor when negotiating price.

Yes, zero clearance engine design for valves. BUT, a 2007 is also a chain drive one, not belt drive. When belt goes, lots of valves typically bend. With chain drive, step 1 is remove engine. Could be carbon fouling too I suppose. But meantime the implication of maybe just one bent valve is sort of like just one part of your body isn't working quite right. So doc, which one is it? Oh, no big deal, just your heart... We have a great transplant program here if needed. Feeling lucky today?

another one just cam up for sale the owner of this one say Cylinder 3 one of the intake valve spring broke but the second is working

they are both 2007
