Default 12 volt key in power on?

Im looking for 12 volt key in power on. basically if i turn on the mmi i would like to have a 12 volt power source that would also turn off when the key is removed. any help would be helpful and believe me i've searched.

Default Search again for radar detector or V1 hookup, such as...

I forget where I have it connected just now, but this is the classic radar detector hookup--power on with key on. As I recall from years ago now it's under the drivers knee bolster (with an airbag in it...), basically by tapping into one of the fuse circuits that powers on only with the ignition on. For detectors it's not done up at the overhead light area IIRC because those wires have the lighting off delay as well as the fade circuitry.

Net search the D3 archives for hooking up a radar detector, a V1, an Escort, etc. and I think you will find it again. For example: https://www.audiworld.com/forums/sho....php?t=2792461 On mine, I did it behind the fuse panel instead of into the front of it, but same basic idea. You can use a voltmeter if any doubt which ones power on with ignition. Also logically you could do the same off of the similar passenger side fuse panel if you want something physically more on that side.

Last, if it's low power load like a detector, usually no worries if you tap an existing fused circuit. Obviously for more power you would need to do it differently.
