I have almost 150k miles on the 2006 Audi A8L. I will be bringing it in for servicing next week at an independent dealer mechanic. Oil and filter change, brake fluid flush and replacement, transmission fluid flush and replacement, brake pads and rotor inspection, air filter change. These are the things I have in mind. I will hold off the timing belt for a few months. Is there anything else that I should have done on the car?

Your holding off on the timing belt procedure; yet your flushing your trans fluid? Is it dirty or in need of replacing? Only reason I replaced mine was because of an issue per TSB I was experiencing. But now I guess you can use amsoil in replacement of the normal Audi blue fluid. Super pricey. Just repeat what is done at the 75k-100k maint. schedule.
If it were me.... I would only be changing the oil and checking condition of the filters and everything else. I hope baloo is only changing his pads and filters because they are in need to be; not only because his manual says so. (rotor inspection is what tipped me off) This can be done by the naked eye more often than not. As well as brake pads. If they aren't squeaking or grinding their good to go!

Thank you guys,
I looked up the service manual last week under 75k miles as I knew that it resets once you reach 100k. I want to do certain things at the servicing rather than pay for them to do everything.
I will be doing the timing belt in 1-2 months. I had the transmission fluid changed 2-3 years ago at 55k miles due to that TSB in regards to the color of the fluid since I had some hooting problem before and it has now be resolved. So I might not do that now but felt it will be good to clean it up after 100k on that fluid.
As far as brake pads go, I replaced them at 60k miles and have not done so since and that's impressive but I do feel that the brakes are a bit spongy with squeaking sounds and some grinding but no vibration on braking so the rotors are still good. I will plan to replace brake pads. As brozee is saying, I want to do things that are necessary rather than have them do all the things on the service manual.

After 90k on brakes I would expect that rotors are gone even if all of that was highway millage. I am surprised that pads can last that long. Any of them. Anyways, minimum front rotor thickness is 31mm. If they are 32mm or less replace them. It may be good to replace fuel filter. I don't think you should replace transmission fluid. Audi doesn't require that. When did you replace timing belt?
