I recently purchased on 2005 A8 just before bluetooth was available. I have onstar but it is not active. I use alltel as my cell phone provider so i would have to switch to Verizon to be compatable with the Onstar system. Should i pay to have bluetooth installed to use handsfree in my car or change providers and pay both onstar and verizon for the same capability.
Also if someone has set up bluetooth in their ride, does it work through the sound system in the car and at what price should it cost.
Thanks

...therefore I believe you really don't have the options you think you do.

OnStar won't support the Audi systems anymore, so that's really not an option.
I installed bluetooth in my car via the BMW bluetooth upgrade module. I bought it for around $300 from my local BMW dealer and popped it in the cradle my car had for the Audi/motorola cell phone. I can now use the handsfree dialing and the calls come in through the car speakers. It seems to work very well and you don't need to switch carriers.
