Default 2005 A8L Tire Upgrade

I am replacing my OEM tires (255/40/19 Pirelli P6 4 Season) with Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 275/35/19.

Anyone made this change to a wider tire on the stock wheel?

I am guessing here as Gary@ Tirerack has no experience with this modification.

Thanks in advance for your feedback

Default Don't do it on the OEM 19" wheel....

It's not wide enough to accept the 275 width (9" minium). Also 275/40-19 would be the more acceptable and available size.

I just did 275 40 19 but they are on a 9" wide wheel.

Fits the Phaeton, probably the A8 too. So far I haven't had any rubbing or adverse affects. The stock TPMS works, the Nav system is still accurate, the speedometer may be more accurate by about 2 percent. Ride and handling are awesome.

The wider and taller tire just fit in the spare tire well. Very important to have the same size on your spare as the rest.

That's still under review. As is the chrome trim delete idea.
