Default 2005 audi a8L quattro esp fault

Sometimes while driving at no specific speed sometimes the esp light comes on the car loses power, it idles rough and sometimes shuts off while slowing down or when i stops. this is embarrasing...
anyone with any ideas on how to possibly resolve this issue it will be greatly appreciated..

You need the diagnostic software (free at ross-tech.com) the diagnostic interface cable (choose one with CAN capability) and a PC with mating port.

If you don't have, you need to buy or borrow. Or, take the car to a qualified repair shop.

There will be a stored fault code telling you why the ESP indicator light came on. That will start the troubleshooting process.

I've had an ESP problem in the past that would come on all the time about 5-15 minutes after driving. Turned out to be a faulty brake light switch thats all. I'm by no means any skilled under the hood of the car. Is your battery newer? Seems like its maybe not giving the car enough juice, therefore putting your car in "limp" mode? Not sure definitely get it checked out to prevent permanent damage.
