So you did 1070 to 4610 following the process (cleanup disk first to update the firmware and software of the Handyvorb2 module) in the TSB I referenced above? Just want to be sure =]

Thanks. Why 4610 and not 3360 > test, 4140 > test, 4610? It seems to be the consensus on this forum not to upgrade for the sake of being "current" that is of course unless it solves the problem/issue you are looking to correct? In addition I heard that 4610 has some unwanted features - TPMS is not able to be disabled and some issues w/ the vents. Comments?
As far as vent errors, My A4 did this too back. After a while, it seems like they just go to full speed when on auto for no reason at all. My A8 will do that occasionally. Many other Audi's have done that in my presence also. I don't chalk that one up to MMI.

Update: So I get all ready to make the jump to 4610. I have the instructions printed out, battery charger connected, windows down... I pop in the cleanup disk #1 and...

UGH WTF! LOL. Yes they are OEM disks and yes I tried others (tried 3360 disk too). I did some research and it appears that there are some cd changers that can't handle MMI upgrades??? Anyone else run into this on a 2005?
My next step is to install a 4E0-057-110 E (2008, MP3 Compatible CD Changer) - and from the looks of this thread https://www.audiworld.com/forums/sho...php?p=24156973 it is the cool thing to do =]
Anyone have any other advice?

Try first one of those cleaning discs. Cleaning lenses, not software. It could be that it get dirty over 6 years. I do not believe there are CD changers that can not handle update.

I ran a RadioShack lens cleaner (CD w/ brush on it) through it... Audio CD's play perfectly (should have tested before but I didn't). Going to attempt the upgrade later tonight. Stay tuned.
