Probably the easiest and best retrofit I have completed to my D3 to date. It dramatically improves seat comfort, especially in the rear, shame I spend most time in the drivers' seat.
If you have a pair they are quite easy to install, besides the rear. Thankfully my father and I, when I had the rear deck out, removed the rear headrests and cut them down to size. This allows me to remove them without having to remove the rear seats. For the drivers seats you just need to remove the seat back covers, remove the two headrests pins, reinstall the pins and put in the new headrests. If anyone wants pictures on this procedure, I can get some due to the passenger seat back clips essentially were weakened by removing it
very nice.
I have A6 headrests to install.
I am trying to improve rear window visibility. Wish I had two center headrests from the A6 to see what they look like.
damn those look very nice I bet they are very comfortable, I had them in my old Alpina, if I didn't have TV's in my A8 I would def buy those
I have them and tV due to a hack I did. I bought some tv headrests and used the fronts of the comfort headrest and joined the foam together. Bought some fake leather as close to the colour together with some special spray. Made a pattern from the using cardboard and got it sewn together.
Hi. Can anybody tell me how to regulate the side parts in a headrest? My Audi A8 D3 actually has them in the front and I can adjust them manually, but they don't hold the position. Thanks in advance!

I have a similar issue on mine, the passenger seat is fine and holds whatever position you move the wings into, the drivers seat always wants to lay a little further out than flat.
Bought a replacement headrest on ebay, specifically asked the seller "do the wings stay in place", assured that they do, which was a lie, surprise.
Gives me the opportunity to tear this one apart with no reservations. The leather on this one looks and feels worse than what's in my S8 anyways, I don't know if it's a lack of conditioning or maybe a lower grade of leather, or cooked in a hotter climate or ???
Anyways:
Red material in the main section shown later, some of it was spongy, some was greasy, some felt like foam rubber.
4 clip locations
All clips need bent in towards center to release. I didn't break any, but I did stress them quite a bit. The lower clips were tricky with that flat piece in front of it.
foam/rubber rings that allow for the wings to stay in place. No idea what to replace them with to restore operation.
cut up and used the core of a sanding sponge. sizing is a trial and error game. Little bit of silicone grease and now it works great on the test piece. I'll cut up some cleaner ones for my original headrest and hopefully never have to think about this again.
