Hi, My 2008 A8 has been sucessfully paired to my Sprint 4G LTE phone for the last 60 days. No issues until today. No incoming calls are ringing just fine but I can't hear the party at the other end and I can make calls calling out. I tried to go thru the pairing process a couple of times and it pairs but does not allow me to hear thru the blue tooth in the car which is very strange. I have tried to reset the phone and the car.
What do you think is happening?
I did try and pair a different phone after this begain and it was sucessful. That was an Apple Iphone.
One more question! Can you have two paired phones for the car? my primary phone is the EVO LTE.
Thanks.

Was the iPhone fully operational?
You can't have two phones paired at the same time. If you set up both of them to automatically pair only one will be able to do so. Not really perfect because you will newer know which one.

activated (or deactivated) simply by pushing down regular volume **** on the MMI center console during a call.
If one phone pairs and works correctly, but not another, to me that's a pointer the other phone may have a problem. Easy to drop or otherwise damage a phone w/ out really realizing something broke (besides the obvious glass/case) for a while. On the phone side, you could also try to check or remember if there were any recent "updates" to its software that might have suddenly contributed to its new found issues.
On the car side, maybe check what MMI version you have. As a 2008, its probably w/in the last version or two even if never upgraded. Both of the last two versions (41xx and 46xx) had phone and bluetooth related reliability tweaks, especially 41xx.
One other simple idea: I find my iPhone 4 and my keyless Audi remote don't get along well. If both are in the same pocket somehow, the door entry and push button often doesn't work, and sometimes the ignition doesn't want to kick in when I push the start button. When I then switch them to separate pockets or pull one out, issue solved. Sometimes I sense the proximity of the key to the phone may also aggravate some bluetooth issues I have off and on, which have been more pronounced since iOS5. Once Apple releases yet another "improvement" to iOS to re-do maps again, I may update to the newer iOS too.
