3g mmi parts arrived.
My 3g MMI parts arrived for my 07 A8. THe conversion will be done in the next 2 weeks. I will take pictures and post them. DOes anyone know when the 3g system came out for the a8 d3/4e model? I see some production dates on the parts going far back as 2006. I have never seen a 3g mmi in a USA a8 d3/4e

Sunil, what was the approximate cost for all of the necessary parts? I'm sure a few of us will want to follow your lead if this is successful (and good luck!)

radio tuner with integrated sirius satellite
bose 3g amplifier
replacement lcd screen
Audi media interface
integrated bluetooth
bluetooth mic
i am still trying to source the climate control panel.

Dumb question I know, but other than some media card what is there to gain?
Does it give Google nav or something like the D4 ?

I believe the challenge is what he is seeking. The benefits surely do not outweigh the cost+time it takes for this retrofit. The 3D maps and new interface aren't enough to wet my whistle lol

I'd love to see this successfully completed in the US. Besides the smoother interface and enhanced maps, I believe you get much more full featured voice recognition. Pretty sure you get voice dialing and possibly voice address input for navigation.
