Yes I think so. Mine had that too, I think just by reducing the hazing it improves the appearance no end. Mine weren't so much yellowed as clouded, and I think they look way better. Give it a try!

anyone know if this will work on the rear lights? i want to upgrade them to the 2009/10 led config but cant afford to at the moment. one lens is fine, and one had scratches and swirls on it, that dulls the light at night

I wouldn't try it. The plastic is different and you may just ruin them. I just replaced my tailights because the lenses were coming off of the light itself. Not a bad job, but they are expensive

THE Suffolk dear boy, in Blighty!
I wouldn't recommend the 500, 800 or maybe even 3000 grit stages on the rear lights, but they are coloured plastic, as opposed to clear plastic on the front. Making the front ones more clear is just a by-product of polishing them. Essentially you're doing the same thing, making the outer surface of the lens shiny and removing any impurities.
I've done the same process to Volvo 850 wagon rear lights, they discolour terribly, and they came out saweeeeet.![Wink](https://www.audiworld.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)
Test on an inconspicuous area first etc etc....

I was curious simply because I thought you lot - over in the east, had a water shortage and to find a 'boggy' piece of Suffolk must be quite rare?
... as for the lights - I did the headlights on my old A6 a year or so ago. They did not have chips, just a sort of crazing and yellowing of the surface - I bought some fine diamond paste but really, some very fine wet-n-dry and some 'T-cut' was all that was really needed.
As for the longevity after they have been cut back - who knows, but I doubt it will be very long before they look cloudy again.

If you have access to detailing tools, you can easily restore the tail lights to near new. Treat the plastic tail lights the same as you would the paint. Use a mild polish on a foam pad and a orbital polisher and you would be amazed at the results. If they are really bad you can wet sand them (using 1500 or 2000 grit sandpaper) and follow up with the polish on a foam pad.
This is something any decent detailing shop will do for you as well. Save the dough on new tail lights and polish them up and you'll be happy until you just can't live without the LED versions, HA!
