A8 2006 Bose Amplifier Pin-outs
Hiya all.
I have had a good search on this forum but can't find what I am looking for. I wish to install a line output convertor in my a8 so I can add some aftermarket amplifiers.
Does anyone know the pin outs on the output side of the Bose amp so I can work out what wires to splice into ?
Also is it correct that the amplification on the bose sub in the rear shelf is done externally from the Bose amplifier ?
Many thanks
Ricky

Many thanks for the reply mate.
My wiring seems to be a little different then that though, its calld a bose 6000 if that makes any difference ?
The wiring going into the plugs on the amp seems to be different, as do the current flow diargam.
Many thanks
Ricky
P.s. Of course i will do a full write up of what i do :-) I have already build a sub box for 2 12's that fire's through the ski hatch :-)

Which wires to tap for an external subwoofer?
Does anybody know which wires to tap to get the full range signal that is unaltered by the bose preamp to run to the subwoofer? The door front left and right, the subwoofer outputs, the rear or deck speakers? If you tap off of these wires can they adapted to a right and left rca input to a subwoofer amp? Lastly where is the amp......I assume the right or left side of the trunk likely. Thanks to any who knows or who has already done this. Adding an after market sub to the bose would tighten things up dramatically.

Rear deck speakers should give you full range. I am planning to put a sub in, but will tap to the sub output, and will disconnect the one on the car. I will be using a Kenwood class D sub amp (KAC-9105D) that comes with high (speaker) level inputs and that will eliminate the use of a hi to low signal adapter. Also, the Kenwoods have what is called signal-sensing turn on, so that will also eliminate the use of the power turn on lead. What it does is it turns the amp on when there is a signal present, and will turn the amp off once sound stops. This will make the installation very easy.
