Default A8 4.2 FSI motor
hi all,
this motor started for '07.
besides about 1-2 mpg better, is it a quantum leap improvement over the non-FSI 4.2?

Default IMHO not really. In my estimation, the performance and fuel economy of...
...my previous '06 4.2 and the '08 4.2 FSI were about the same; actually the non-FSI engine felt a tad smoother to me. Others my have a different opinion.

Remember FSI has timing chain and not a belt, I believe.

My wife drives a Q7 4.2 and I don't think the engine is as smooth as my '04 A8 4.2. I do like the timing chain better than a belt though. Oh well.
