Default A8 MMI stuck in bootloader mode

Hello

I accidently put my A8 MMI to bootloader mode in the hidden menu. I already bought 4 update cd's, however it look like I need an old one, to update first to 1xxx version from the original 02.9.0.

I called the dealer, but they say these old CD's not available anymore, and they offered the ones which I already have.

So I'm looking for any possible way to get that Cd's, or a link where can I download it.

Thank you

Peter

The first CD from your CD bundle there should work in that menu. Does the bootloader menu say that its scanning for the CD but cant find the metadata or what is it doing?

I managed to get a version 1110, which is solved the problem. The problem was I didn't had this low version, which needed to convert 0xxx versions to 1xxx.

So basically problem solved.

Hi there,

Same problem mate. Tried a burnt copy of 5570.

Have ordered 5570 but sounds like am in trouble!

Can't believe I too have ORIGINAL 0290 ????

Is stuck in bootloader, unreadable disc, no metainfo etc.

First time I have heard of 1XXX. How the hell did you get that? Burnt?
If so is there a torrent somewhere?

This post of yours has just crushed me, thought I'd get it back once my original 5570 showed up.

All this cause of a new DTB tuner and AMI. Hope I havent killed my MMI????

Paul.

Hello

Contact me please by email info@tizenharmas.hu

I will upload for you somewhere in ISO format, you can write it to a CD.

Don't worry, your MMI is not dead!

Hi Peter,

Have since purchased a number of more CD's off eBay.

1. V5570 WITH v1110!!!!!!!
part 4L0 998 961 (not 4E0 but not a problem I believe?)

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/261101533...84.m1439.l2649

2. V1120 (?90%)
part 4E0 906 961 E

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/111037648...84.m1439.l2649

3. V0770 (?90%)
part 4E0 906 961 B (Flash CD 91A9)

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/111037648...84.m1439.l2649

Threw these up so your original post with googled me in might help others to find these parts also.

Have not yet tried, arriving soon. Will post back to let know if works.
Have also since tried a burnt copy of v1110 off torrent(took a while!) but MMI returns "unreadable CD".

Endstate: Try purchased ones first, Report back Success/Failure.

Will query you if any issues, Cheers.
Will reply success here as your post googles well, will also post a thread of my own as this is a big issue for older D3's and Audi's in general.

Later Peter/Guys !!!

Have lost these CD's in mail, still trying to track down as was away when delivered.

Will not do anything hardware wise until atleast tried older software versions first.

Playing the waiting game for now, report later on outcome.

Hi Ziggy, welcome to AW. I am having the same too-early-MMI-version problem over here half way around the world. I have put mine on hold for the time being. Not worth the hassle just to rid her of the "Lawyer screen". Also I have not replaced my TPMS senders and if I lost the ability to turn off TPMS fault indicator it would annoy me worse than the lawyer screen does.

I am curious about the behavior of the radio tuner. Mine is maddening, I cannot erase the old stations even when I click "Clear Station Memory". Maybe I'll start another thread...
In any case, good luck!
-Tom

PS, what's the story on your avatar? Are you a mercenary?

Default Any luck?

I have tried new 1110 disc that cam with 5570 but no luck to date.

Not sure about radio stations as did not really use before screwed up my MMI. looking at getting TPM but does not have atm.

You tried any discs, easy to get 5570 with 1110 added but I have not managed to get mine to read or the disc i bought that never got here (0770 I think) might be needed to get it to 1110?

Not merc, but a currently australian commando about to get out. That shot is from last trip in ghan before a night raid. Got me carrying the mag58 for that one as we were expecting a big night out!

Cheers tom.

Hi just rediscovered post and read it correctly this time.

You had 0290? And 1110 worked? Mine is genuine and is coming back disc unreadable.

I have the built in motorola phone though i don't think i have a bluetooth contoller as such, even though the phone comes up as bluetooth itself.

I have read somewhere if i remember that bluetooth or maybe phone needs to be disconnected before update?

Do you have phone, bluetooth, or none.

If you do it updated to 1110 fine as is??

Cheers in advance,

Paul.
