Then go do the same in an A8...that should be enough to convince you. And the 7 will cost more, and the 7 cant get out of its own way if the road is wet, and dont even think about driving it in the snow. On the other hand,if you are driving a Quattro the only thing on the road that you need to be concerned about is those who are NOT driving a Quattro.

interior will blow your mind, seats like sitting in a living room, handles like a Mercedes benz s class and a bmw 7 series put together, the awd is like driving a H2 in the snow. A8L hands down, get amaretto interior.

Just try as a test looking at Audi's and BMW's in general of a similar vintage: 5 years old, 10 years old, etc. By 10 years out BMW's in general look quite dated to me--the body lines, the wheels, the interior, the... And, I have been noticing the same w/ BMW's for a good number of years now, not just current vs. old crop. As a specific test example, find a D2 A8 to look at and compare it to the same vintage 740i. 740i to me looks way, way past its prime.
Net, Audi's to me look more timeless as they age. When you are buying a car at the end of a generation or starting a new generation, definitely want to look at how they will appear 5 more years down the road.

Just purchased an 04 A8L last month myself. Reason, I live up in the mountains west of Denver (Dillon) and year-round commute at least twice weekly to Denver. I had to have a car that was safe, comfortable and absolutely stable on slushed, snow packed and iced mountain roads (namely I70). So far, though I've only been using it for the month of December, it has exceeded my expectations. The car even manuvered its way out of a nasty 6 to 7 car pile-up on a snow packed I70 at Vail New Years Eve!
If winter driving is of any concern in your situation I suggest that you give the A8 a long consideration.

I 2nd that everybody and there brother have a BWM. My friend have a 06 750iL. He called me just 2 days ago to tell me that his 16 year old likes my 04 A8 better than the BMW. I talked to his son and told him nothing beat quattro! Lol.
Its a nice looking car on the outside but I still think the A8 is better. I brought mines for all weather. I dont want any weather situation stopping me from getting out when I need to.
We just got 16 inches of snow in Va last weekend. I was in the right lane while everybody else was following the rest of the traffic in the left lane. Even when it came to bridges. I saw a Escalade and Nissan Armanda that got stuck on a steep bridge. I just went around.
You really might consider the A8 instead of the 750

Good stuff.
I just test drove a 750i with the sport package tonight, I have to admit it was a really nice ride and super quick for such a big car.
Trying to test drive an A8 but they are impossible to find! Did Audi not make many of them?
Also...what real-world gas mileage are you getting in yours?
