Default Adaptive headlight malfunction

It has been raining here for a few days now (yeah, in San Diego, go figure). Tonight on my way home I got the error on the MFD for the adaptive light. When I got home, the left light was pointing left and I could hear the motor trying to adjust it (back to center I guess). It would not budge so I turned off the car and went inside to have dinner. I then fired up the trusty VAGCOM and scanned to see what the issue was. The result is pasted below. I ran all the tests and it all worked perfect, the lamp went back to normal and all functions are OK. I did reset the DTC, all seems to be working.

I am thinking maybe there is some water leaking into the harness, but I was not able to see much. I will take a look again tomorrow. Looks like the sensor malfunctioned. Any previous experience or comments will be appreciated.

Cheers.

So basically it just fixed itself? Thank god for you I'm sure it was maybe just condensation messing with it. Half the errors you get with these machines fix themselves. Heres a few good examples I've had

Passenger side window wouldn't roll up, only down. Fixed itself after 10 minutes, never happened again

Master window switch that controls the passenger side window the roll up function was intermittent. Works perfect now after 1 month of issues.

TPMS gets a malfunction every once in a while, I just initialize the wheels and it resets and works perfect.

Whoa! Just took a look at it, there is a hole on the back of the module (the one that sits behind the lamp, not on the side) about 1/4" big. Must have happened with the accident. All is working now, so I took a blow drier to make sure all is dry and put a bit of silicone on it. I guess some moisture from the rain must have gotten in there. Hope it works.

Cheers.

Good deal. Keep an eye on the seal job and you should be fine.

Raining like hell in Las Vegas too. Palm Springs was hot and sunny last week for me.
