Air Suspension failed at 75K

Have an expensive dilemma ahead of me. I have an 04 Audi A8 with 75K miles and the front air suspension bag leaks. I have been trying to search for a Forum passage with some similar experience but everyone that has experienced this problem has been under warranty. The quote I have received is $3200 to fix the issue. I asked how this could have happened, but the repair associate explained it was normal wear and tear. This seems absurd to me that such an expensive part could fail at 75K miles. Apparently there is no OEM aftermarket replacement part either. I read a couple of remarks of a recall, can anyone confirm this? Can anyone lend some advice? I am trying to get this fixed in Redmond WA. I just left Barrier Motors for lack of ownership to their “fixes” and poor Cust Ser to try Redmond European after reading the advice of this forum but the lack of customer service, failed returned feedback and vague answers from Redmond European may force me back to Barrier for this repair and others.

Keep searchin the forums, i remember they being a bunch of 04's that failed. However most of those cars were under factory warranty.
Never, ever, ever, ever, ever buy an audi without a comprehensive warranty. Either from the dealer, or if you have to go and buy one on your own.
Trust me , i am on my 6th Audi, as a matter of fact, just get the car from the dealer with a cpo warranty.

If you really mean the air shocks, I saw a few listed recently on either ebay.co.uk or ebay.de. Might take a while to get, but a possible. One had pretty low pricing actually. Could also search US yards through something like car-part.com. Sports and non sports suspensions use slightly different part numbers.
If it is actually the compressor/pump (what people have reported more issues with on the early ones), that's a different part of course. I think "Mr. Bally" replaced his with a OES equivalent and avoided the dealer cost markup.

I received my car back from being fixed from a rear end accident and when I drove over a speed bump it sounded like i was running over a tree with a scratching noise. It would come and go until about 2 months later when the passenger side of the car drooped to the floor.

back to the shop that performed the collision repair - these are very sensitive parts.
what did redmond euro say?
I've worked with them several times they have always been a great shop.

per my crash parts listing copy. 2004's and 2005's thru VIN ending in 1000 or less had part numbers with AA suffix. Thereafter and at least thru 2007 they had an AG suffix. Sports models have an AF suffix. Retail pricing is apparently the same on all (big $$).
The compressor is listed as the same thru 2007.
