Guessing my 07 S8 uses a 4E0 airbag with the stock steering wheel, can a swap a newer 2012 steering wheel with the 4F0 or the 8J0 and connect it directly with the stock air bag wiring that came with the vehicle?

It is not really clear which airbag you want to use. D3 airbag won't fit to e D4 steering wheel. Both D4 wheel and airbag most likely won't fit to D3.

Let me be a bit more clear. This wheel is off a 2012 R8 ( I believe) and I would like to try it on my 07 S8. My questions are 1: Will the air bag needed for this wheel of which I'm led to believe is a 4F0 or 8J0, will it couple up with the wiring on my 3 spoke stock wheel that I am using now which I believe is a 4e0? 2: in fact is it the 4F0 or the 8j0 the air bag(s) I'm looking for? I'm also guessing the wheel is a direct swap? Many tanks to the Left Coast for all his help. You know what dealing with Ottawa is like. Lol

It looks like that one will fit. I really doubt that you will be able to find anybody with exact experience. That's how it is with rare cars.
