Default AMI finally installed

Was expensive (about $1300 for parts and labor) but works perfectly. All Ipod functions can be controlled through MMI. Only function I cannot do is search artists or songs by alpha search -- you have to scroll through the entire alphabet. Hitting volume button pauses Ipod and it automatically pauses if a phone call comes through bluetooth. This is by far the best Ipod integration I have seen in a car.

Did you have your dealer install it? My dealer claims that they can't get the parts even though I gave them the part numbers and pointed out that I can get them myself on the web. My dealer won't do the install if I provide the parts. VERY FRUSTRATING!

Default Agree the key missing function is a standard search screen...

That being said, it works great and is a big hit with the kids. Maybe Audi can fix this with a software update?

Default Sounds like your dealer should call his dealer...

Based on reading the posts on this subject over the past month, Audi has done a very poor job of getting out the word concerning the AMI upgrade and installation. Word of mouth from folks on this Furom seems to be the primary way dealers find out about most TSBs/upgrades. Putting the 2 dealers in contact with each other may sole your problem. The MMI upgrade is another very poorly "advertised" subject that mist folks have trouble with. I finally ordered the CD myself for $10 and did the upgrade in teh garage myself in less than an hr.

2007 MY. My dealer had the parts within 2 days of ordering them. As I said above, expensive but a great integration.

it's sad, isn't it? You'd think AoA would be all over this. How much effort can it really take to get the word out if the parts are available? 5 minutes and an email distribution list? Maybe another hour or so to get the part numbers populated in the distribution system?

Jaywax, who's your dealer? I guess I'll continue to do Audi's work for them. Do you think they'll give me a discount for the effort?
