I tried to update with the BIN file you sent me but still getting the same message 'The USB stick contains invalid Audi music interface software. Update not possible. Please remove USB stick.'
When I try SW-UPDATE using the red hidden menu, it points me to the CD-ROM as the Download server. My conclusion is to install both AMI and CD Changer and update from the 3 CDs ( I don't know which particular CD contains the AMI update) for the MMI upgrade.
My MMI is upgraded to 5570.
AMI :SW-Number: 4E0035785
SW-Index: 0170
SW-Date: 15-08-06
HW-I Dex: H09.
Thank you.
Email me at brozeeboy@gmail.com and I can email you the AMI Update file. It is the latest AMI update as well. There may be a way to extract, however the only way to upgrade is via CD as that is how the system reads and installs the new firmware.
You should update your MMI (which is sounds like you already did) with the CD drive installed. Then remove the CD drive from the vehicle since you don't have an optical splitter, and install the AMI unit. The AMI unit can then be upgraded with the USB plug for the AMI and the update file on a USB flash drive. I did this exact same process on my 2005 A8. I removed the CD drive and have the AMI only installed and use a 3.5MM Bluetooth dongle to connect wireless to the system. $10 dongle that I've been using for 2 years now, works great.
Thanks for mailing me the update file. However it's the same as a file i had earlier downloaded from another forum but i'll try it and give a feedback. Thank you.

If you've updated your MMI with the 5570 files then your AMI should already be up-to-date as 5570 contains the 0850 version of the AMI code.
Use the info. in thread entry #40 to see how to use the 'Red Menus' to check your device code levels ...
However, thread entry # 65 has a download that still works.

I finally succeeded in updating my AMI. This is how;
1. I upgraded from MMI 3450 to 5570 using the 3CDs
2. Bought AMI with SW version 0170
3. For AMI to work with MMI 5570, you must upgrade it to SW version 0850.
4. The AMI update file for SW 850i s located in CD #3 of the MMI 5570 upgrade.
5. To update AMI, both AMI and CD changer must be connected to MMI, you need Optic fibre and power cable Splitter.
6. Once both are connected, insert CD #3 in slot 1 of CD Changer.
7. Press Car + Return buttons simultaneously to enter hidden menu.
8. Select AMI, - SW UPDATE - CD-ROM - STANDARD - START DOWNLOAD and follow instructions to the END.
9. You can then decide whether to keep both AMI and CD Changer.
10. Enjoy your music.
I've replaced the stock door speakers with 4No. Sony XS-160ES Mobile 6.5" speakers. The sound is 🔥
