Default Autozone Mobil 1 Sale

Thought I'd give you guys a heads up. Autozone is running a special for 5qts of Mobil 1 (ow-40) included and a oil filter for $28. Really a good deal. Since they don't carry any A8 oil filters, I got the filters for my other vehicles with the deal.

Thanks Brozee!

Looks like I'll be knocking on their door this week to take advantage of this losing proposition (on their part).

Carry on...

M1 0W40 is one of the recommended oils as it meets the spec: VAG 502.00

I ended up buying 25 quarts lol. 8ish for the 4.2 and 13ish for the w12. The other will just be extra. They all were in 1qt bottles as autozone doesn't carry the 5qt jugs like advance auto does. Along with the deal I got 4 oil filters for my fathers accord and one filter for my Durango.

Deal ends the 4th or 5th FYI.

I stopped to get a filter from my mechanic-to-be today, and he told me I'd need to remove the air filter to get to the oil filter canister. And that it takes a a special tool to open the canister. Sound right?

Then he said he charges $100 for him to do it all. Sounds pretty reasonable, given the cost of 8 quarts plus filter.

2007 and on has FSI engine and filter is right at the top of the engine, close to the windshield. No special tools needed. If you (or your mechanic) have vacuum oil extractor it is just a piece of cake job. If not it is just a bit more.
