Default Background lighting stopped working

Does anyone have any idea why my background lighting won't adjust? It stopped a while ago, but I've just now started to look into it. I tried looking for settings via vag com, but didn't see anything obvious.

It is still in my MMI menu, but when I try to adjust it, it won't respond. The rear footwell lights under the front seats have also stopped working. I did an output test and found that the fronts would turn on, but the rears won't.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

The interior lighting in these cars is pretty fickle. It's tied into the rear shade (if you have one) too.

I'm assuming from your post that VCDS/MMI settings are correct. So try this link to check over the operation.

Actually, the entire thread was pretty helpful for me.

Carry on...

OK I'm gonna go with Misha here - that's a little bit crazy even by German standards.

Perhaps a bad fuse, I would look there.

Well guys... it turns out the problem was that I tried to figure it out in the morning when I (typically) don't drink. After a few drinks and going back at it this evening, for whatever strange reason, I tried module 38 for roof electronics. +0000128 for "light profile" did the trick. I don't know what happened to make it go away, but it is back now.
