The larger mid range door speaker in my '07 A8 appears to be done for. It makes a vibration type (blown) noise if it is turned up much and there is any bass in a song.

1) Is there an affordable place to get a replacement?

2) Will only a B & O speaker work since it's a fiber optic system or can I get a less expensive aftermarket speaker?

3) Should it only be dealer installed?

It should be original speaker if you want that high end system to work as designed.

It can be installed by anybody who knows what he is doing. Dealers are not always in that group, but they are definitely the most expensive.
