Default Battery problem or not?

Started the car this morning and cluster says "low battery" and the MMI shows 10%. Drive to the local Sears since the Audi service is closed on the weekend and they test the battery and it tests fine including under load test. They recommend I do nothing for now. By the time I drove there and back home the battery level had risen to 70%.

Should I get a new battery or is there something else to look into?

Thanks, any advice appreciated.

Default Leave it

The mmi is very slow to update, in fact that reading in mmi caused so many problems they removed it from the newer cars. Batteries generally last 5 years or so. A8 battery managment will shut off loads to minimize drain. when car is started it will charge while you drive, Try to give it a chance to charge while driving by minimizing things turned on. Turn off climate control and lights and stuff. It will come back. Do not take it to sears again, you are asking for problems.

I would not ignore it. Last thing you want is to be stranded. First, check the water level in the battery. Could be low and causing intermittent charging. If that is the case you can fill up with distilled water. Otherwise I'd get it checked from Audi.

Default As Par said

Check the electrolyte level. Mine was very low when the car/battery was about three years old. No one up to that ppoint ever checked it as the sealing tape on the top of the battery was intact. The case of my battery is opaque so the level has to be checked manually. I removed my battery but kept the car "alive" by connecting a 10 amp 12 vdc power supply to the electrical system. Two years later (this past May) I checked it again. Level was low, but only slightly. I topped up all of the cells.
