Love that shot, my 2nd favorite setup... would be 1st if the spokes weren't so hard to clean. Ease of use is a big factor for me and wheels... thus my love of my 19" OEM RS6 Fat Fives... sure the kids on Audizine have a cool name for them but...

Here's my thinking about wheels for a D3...An A8 is not a sporty automobile, especially not the long wheelbase version. So I beleive that spokes (and the resultant unavoidable view of rotors and calipers)are inappropriate to the car. The D3 is an expensive, elegant, luxury automobile and therefore an elegant wheel seems more proper.
Rolls Royce and Bentley (the big Bentleys like the Brooklands and the new Mulsanne)tend to use a solid wheel that has as few openings as possible;thus emphasizing the gravitas and elegance of their luxury cars. As you can see in my photos, I retained the 18 inch OEM 10 hole MONOBLOCK wheels from my D2 because I think their design has exactly the above mentioned qualities. They are one of the most elegant wheels ever designed IMO and therefore perfect for what I see as the presence of a D3. And they're forged, which is a big plus with all the bad roads we have here in the US.
The D3 looks best with a full wheel well so I do wish Audi had made 19 or 20 inch Monoblocks, but, bottom line, I think they look better than the OEM 19s that came on the car. But as spoked wheels go, I think the OEM 19 spoke 19 inch wheel is very attractive, as spoked wheels go, and appears as a solid disc when underway.

Sorry man those rims just look weird and plain on your car, but to each their own
One last thing the Audi A8L is a luxury sedan... but I believe it has a fast look to it and definetly looks great with a spoked wheel compared to a Bentley or Rolls that would not look so good with that type of wheel... just my opinion.

Sorry, but those wheels make it look like an 80's Toyota Cresida.
