Default What is the build code for the glass

How can I tell if my Audi A8 has the double pane glass. I really enjoyed this on my Phaeton. The Audi seems quiet but not really sure if it has it.

Roll a window down part way and look at the top edge of the glass. One piece = single pane. Two pieces bonded together = dual pane. You can easily see two pieces versus one piece.

My cayenne had the dual glass option, and it was the one option I miss the most. It's very hard to find. For the cost, I am always surprised no one gets it. In NYC, it's perfect for reducing the city noise.

Only issue is that ezpass doesn't always work.

I have dual pane glass and my ezpass works fine. I put it right behind the rearview mirror under the tinted glass. Never had any problems with it.

Default Works fine for me too...

Mine is in the door tray and I just hold it up to glass as I pass toll booth. Same on 2000 A6 w/ reg. glass. No obvious difference in my cars on how the sensor reads.

I have no problems with my IPass (same as EZPass & IZoom!) with dual pane. I didn't think the option affects the windshield though. There are notes on the IPass website about certain vehicle windshields that the tags won't work with due to some metallic content or something. They also make radar detectors pretty much useless. Look for notes on the valentine1.com website

Saw this video right after getting it in February and then checked the PR codes.

Too bad it's a nightmarish expense to upgrade after the fact.
Oh well, there's a D4 in my future someday...
