Beyond sound deadening, is there any advantage to double pane glass?

Sorry, maybe I wasn't clear. I don't have dual pane in my S8, had it in my cayenne turbo. In the ctt, ezpass didn't work.

I know I've seen at least one S8 sale sticker where dual pane glass was listed standard and definitely not in the options section.

The presenter in the video mentioned laminated (double glass with elastomeric filling), so I'm assuming it's the same as what's standard in my '08 S8.
If it was single it would shatter into small pieces instead of resisting like it did.
Aside from slowing down small arms fire, it mutes the sweet sounds of the engine, so it's a wash.

Dual paned security glass seems more like a luxury option, so I'm not surprised that it would be standard on a W12 and an option on the S8, since the S8 is optimized more for performance (reducing weight wherever possible).

Reminds me of the time where several cars were broken into at work (late at night). We all suffered damage to our cars, except for the one person who left his unlocked (on purpose, having been the victim of damage from a previous break-in). Moral to the story - if someone wants into your car, they will do what it takes to gain entry, and cause a lot of damage in the process. That said, I still lock my car.
