Default Biggest rim I can fit ? 04d3 a8

I just bought a 04 D3 and I love it... It needs rims and a exhaust then I'm done and will enjoy it... What's the biggest rim I can fit on this car ? Has factory 19 on it, can I fit 22 ? Or 20's ? Feedback is appreciated, thanks

22s work very well on A8s in my opinion but NEED to lower the car to pull it off. You might have a job of convincing the majority on here of that tho. In the flesh I get a lot of compliments from young and old a like. Here's mine....

22's look sweet, do I have to lower ? Or can I just cruise on dynamic ? I was hoping 22's would fit... What are your exact tire specs ? I want to order up some this week.

The wheels are 22 x 9.5 et 45 BUT they are 5x130 stud pattern so I am running 15mm PCD adapters. Essentially what it means is the wheels are et30. The fitment is spot on. Tyre wise they are 255/30 R22. They basically work out 25mm larger diameter than stock wheels so help close up the arch gap anyway.

This is how mine sat in dynamic mode before the further lowering...

in my opinion its needs bringing just that little bit more down to finish the look. I took fronts down around 30mm and rears a little less. I've achieved this with lowering links but want to eventually get it done via VAGcom programming.

Do you have some wheels already in mind?

I have 295/25/22 hanging rear and 245/30/22 front....

I also need to put those lowering links... At the moment VCDS have lowered mine 15mm back and 25mm front...
It's just a matter of time or should I say lack of time?

Now that does look well! How does it drive with difference size wheels on the back?

What are your wheel specs (et and width)?

In stock dynamic mode you had an even, parallel space between the edge of the wheel and the wheel well lip. The geometry of having the two arcs parallel is much more harmonious to the eye than when the two arcs are almost tangent to each other as is your case now. And some people have gone so far as to have the fender arc ECLIPSE the wheel edge...and that (sorry folks) looks illogical,to put it politely.

A Bentley Mulsanne, which is a MUCH larger car only uses 21's. IMO 22's look out of scale on a D3.

I'm sorry, I don't quite understand your point? Are you saying 22s are too big and/or I've lowered my car wrong and dynamic is the only way?
