Bose Audio note...
I was playing a CD containing the overture to Handel's Oratorio "Jeptha" and had the sound focus set to "Driver". I heard what sounded like static or clicks from the speakers. At first, I thought I had a speaker problem. But after playing the passage over a few times, I realized that the recording had captured the fingering noise from the woodwinds. It turned out that the Audi Bose sound system was good enough to faithfully reproduce the fingering sounds. I was surprised to say the least.
The last time I heard such a thing was on a recording of Bach Variations recorded on piano by the late Glen Gould. What sounded like a high frequency distortion, at closer listening, was Gould humming to his own playing...something I later found out he was famous (or infamous to recording studios) for.

Just a weird kid...
Heard "Switched on Bach" in the record store as a kid (yes, vinyl records)...something clicked and I never looked back. While my "normal" peers were into 70's pop music (what a horrid era in pop culture), I was into Bach, Handel, Vivaldi, Scarlatti, Schutz, Des Prez, Monteverde, Orlando, Purcell, etc. I got hooked on baroque and classical as late as Hayden and Mozart. Anything newer is too modern for me.
When you stutter as a kid and sing in choirs, you're viewed as "odd" anyway. My wife thinks I must have lived a past life in the mid-1600's to early 1700's...she's serious and I think she may be right. The music and history of the era fascinates me.

I travel to the UK on business frequently...
If I was 15 years younger, unmarried, and know what I know now, I'd take a multi-year expat package over there. I really enjoy it weather, winter gloom, food, and all!
