Looking to buy a newer nav disk for my 05 A8. I currently have version 4 (2004 maps I believe) I was looking for something newer than version 5 and at a decent price. I scanned ebay and only found version 5 or 6 and they were about $100! For that price I'd just jump on getting the new version 11 disc for $199. Let me know if your interested in selling or can help. Thanks.

I found this 2008/2009 Audi Nav DVD on eBay for $71.98 after shipping but you can make an offer for less as well (though will it work in A8's?):

Hmm if it does I think I'll jump on that. After having my MMI upgraded, the dealer said that I should upgrade from version 4 Nav to a newer one. Did they say I should because it's just old or because a new one would perform beter and/or add new features?

go straight to navteq online, they make the navi disks for many manufactures. you can buy it without the markup and it won't be a burned disk..
I am the GSM at an Acura dealer and I haven't bought one from my parts department for 4 years...

ok, far as I can remember the version is wrote on the disc so if you feel like pulling it out of the DVD player in the trunk you'll know for definite.
Navteq website has disc at $199. Not much of a mark up if dealer is selling for $200 and if my dealer sold me a burned disc for that much I'd do my best to make sure they went out of bizz.

I tried ejecting my Nav Disk today to see what version it was but it it would not eject. I had the car keys in and also had the car completely off with the car keys not in. Am I missing something?

Hmm, yeah as far as I know I've ejected mine about 10 different times trying to do updates off a burned copy of 2010 maps that never worked fully. I haven't tried recently, but I don't know why wit wouldn't work. I had the car ignition on, but not started. And it ejected, the light on the dvd rom light up and the DVD ejected so no idea why yours won't eject.

I believe there is a security setting that can lock the DVD into the player in the trunk. You use the VW/Audi or the VAG-COM diagnostic tools/software to change the setting to allow DVD removal. Mine comes out so I've never investigated it.
