There all the same...It enables you to grip the rounded out nut. Just make sure you get one big enough to fit the nut on the filter and has a long enough handle for you to maneuver it..

After all of this, finally got the damn thing off this morning! Used a 23mm on it with an impact gun at low setting, it came right off in one piece. Installed new cap and new filter. Thanks to all those who chimed in and hopefully this doesn't happen again.
