Just Leave It In!
You can access the Harness & Connectors from the Rear by Dropping the Glove Box. I too am screwed if I ever need to remove the CD Player, but during my Optical Testing when I lost the 07 Control Head, I had to Drop the Box. Let's pray we never lose the CD Player! Laters,

Keep fiddling around with the removal tools. I had the same issue when installing AMI and eventually I got it out. In order to drop the glove box you need to remove the CD changer as there's a screw at the back of each media slot that needs to come out.

Don't Remember exactly!
Remove the Passenger Fuse Cover Panel and there should be 2 or 3 Screws. Grab a Flashlight and get under the Glove Box and you should see 3 to 4 Screws. I would get a Box that's just Tall Enough to Hold the Glove Box once you Remove all Screws as the Glove Box is Heavy so that you don't damage the CD Player or the Air Bag Connector. Just Unplug everything carefully and your're set. Make sure the Air Bag Connect is Secure and Tight when you Re-Install Box or you'll get an Air Bag Warning. If you Cycle the Ignition/Accessory without Securing Air Bag you'll need Vag-Com to Clear Code! Good luck and laters,
