Simple fix is tightening the fuel cap. If that doesn't do it, the only test I know of for the Evaporative Emissions System is a smoke test. I have no idea how a DIYer like myself would even do that.

Patience... Geez

Clear the codes and re-scan see if they come back. My car wasn't scanned for a long time and pulled up a lot of faults then they were cleared and near to none came back.

So would that mean I have to purge it? Sorry not to sure what that is.

Also can anyone tell me what's going on with the airbag light?
Would it likely be a sensor or something?

Could be something as simple as a bad connector or as bad as a bad airbag, but airbags rarely go bad. Most times the problem is the connectors or harnesses. Clear the code and see if it comes back on.

U have to locate the purge valve where it is, then look for loose connections, if that doesn't solve it, try replacing the valve. It's cheap... Worth trying. Anyone here with the bently manual can tell u where the valve is located.

As far as the airbag light, my buddy has the same issue, in his d3 , its most likely a bad sensor, or connection.
We reset it once with vag- com cable. It worked for a while then it came back and resetting didn't do it.
