Default Cold Feet On Cold Mornings

The heat to the floor on my 07 A8 seems weak compared to my 02 S6.

When set to auto, about 25 degrees F. outside and after the engine heats up the fan reaches a mazimum of 7, after the cabin warms up, it cuts down to about 4 or 5. Very warm air comes from the outside dash vents, defroster vent, and cool air comes from the center vents (I have it set that way in MMI). Some heat comes from floor vents, but not a lot. Even when I take it out of auto and select floor, it's not nearly as much as my S6.

In contrast under similar conditions, when the S6 engine is warm enough, the fan goes to it highest setting. Lots of warm air come from the defroster vent and the floor vents. Some come from the dash vents.

Do you believe this is how the A8 is suppposed to be, or should I get it checked out? My butt is warm from the seats, but my feet are cold!

I've noticed that my feet take a while to warm up on very cold days, too.

Default Known Issue

I live in Northern Minnesota and find the A8 takes awhile to heat up the foot wells. Once the vehicle is warmed up, the heat distribution is fine.

In addition, with the seat heaters set to 6, there is a perception of cold feet as you start cooking in the seat.

My wife's Volvo XC70 has a serious heat blast setting for nippy mornings. I suspect Audi has something like that in mind for the D4.

My 04 takes 10 min of driving before the temp needle gets off the peg, although slightly warm air is available prior to that. Any one else have the same situation

Not to spoil the fun, but mine gets warm within about 5 minutes of driving, providing pretty decent heat, and its an 05. Go figure? Although I have noticed even if the heat in the car is doing great and the cars needle is fully warmed or in the middle sometimes my feet do get cold as well, and having the air jets blowing on my feet don't seem to help much.

Well, yes, that's the point of this thread. The heater is fine from the waist up, but weak in the foot wells. I guess I'll just have to wear heavier socks.

Never really thought of it but I did buy new boots after the car . Now I know why feet always seemed chilled. My urs4 heater really toasted them.
