Component Protection Error
I have had this error, never recieved until a couple of months ago. Was told that I must have changed a module to get this error. I have not change any modules. I could have done something else in the VAG to get this, although I do not remember. Any ideas why this would come up without a module being changed.

Have you cleared this to see what comes back? If I believe what it says, apparently you got the fault only once, and nominally it was back in 2003??
If it is recurring, do you have AMI retrofit by chance (or anything else)? Maybe something in the check the box type configuration stuff isn't matched up to the modules the car sees electronically. But more generally, if it works, I just let it go. Like my sporadic passenger door latch button type code when it still seems to work.
