I put my change in the arm rest and only gatorade or water bottles in the cup holders. I use the pop-out tray to the right of the MMI as my condom holder lol!

It's easier to change the cups than the cupholder.
If it's a drive thru' ask for a medium drink in a large cup due to 'special needs'.
And buy a stack of your own such as SOLO no. 316SI 16oz hot cup is what I find is suitable.

Wow. You've taken it to a whole different level. A link for solo cups? haha. I did break down and buy the wife the cup holder insert for like $70. (The car was missing it when I got it), but my real policy is 'no food or beverages served'

I use the cigarette ashtray for my change holder lol. Works perfectly.

I hope somebody finds a good solution for the horrible cup holders in this car. Whenever I get a drink I just constantly hold it; pretty annoying

The guys selling the A4 cup holder confirmed it's a no go for the D3.

My girl can't understand why my A8 has 2 cup holders in the rear, none in the front. "My TSX has great cupholders! isn't this a 90K car?"...as she puts her flimsy to go coffee in the square compartment behind the MMI.
I freak. "please, do not put liquids anywhere in this area, PLEASE!"
Damn i'm tired of that convo
LOL

You are missing actual cup holders from that square box. It is not bad at all if you have proper metal cup.

LOL - yep, I'm familiar with that conversation.

My rule to newbies is "You put liquid in there, you write me a check for $2,500 !"

Nearly had a stroke and heart attack when a flimsy hotel coffee cup got put in there by a colleague.
