Quick question...is this repair the solution to clunking / creaking in the front suspension in cold weather that doesn't exist in warm weather?

Got all my control changed, man what a pita. Turns out all I really probably needed was arms and these sway bar links.
Yes if your creeking In the front and your control arms are good its most likely these bushing. For price and cost to change its definitely something should try before other repairs.
Car handles like new! def recommend these bushings.
i went the trw and delphi arms off FCP for lifetime warranty since the uppers arms seem fail often.

I tend to think that arms "fail often" due to the proliferation of aftermarket arms. I read around here that Lemforder is the OE and really the only good manufacturer of these parts. You see cars go a LONG time on OE parts before first replacement, especially in mild climates like So Cal.
Good on you for getting the FCPEuro parts. At least they will cover the parts and shipping is free on these to your home due to price. Hopefully they last for you. Please post back after 50k if you keep the car.

I did this with my 2006 audi a8. I also had some graphite dust in my cosplay supply's. Cleaned everything up and put it back together went for a drive car drives much better now. No more clunking. Found a set of these moog bushings for less then 15$ so I am pretty happy with the results. Thanks for the write up.

When I took this apart for the Oil cooler union pipe, I was surprised by the following observations:
Is the Febi part made of rubber or similar to original part I am describing ?
- it was not fused as part of the torsion bar (the postings i read described the torsion bars where made with the bushings and clamps as one piece.)
- it easily came off..
- It looked new in spite of its age.
- The original part looked liked the FEBI part.
- It felt and looked like rubber but it did not have the weight of rubber.

Just ordered them for my vehicle. I'm replacing the front right strut and upper control arms, but might as well replace the stabilizer links and bushings (which I don't believe have ever been changed -- 250k km's on my car). The write up on this thread is outstanding. Can I assume that these bushings did the job for you and are working well?
