Recently my car was the victim of some low-life scumbag who decided to punch the R.R. Door seven times, denting the heck out of it. I didn't notice it until I was at the dealer for some work. We recently visited a VW dealer and I noticed their service guy doing a walk-around of vehicles and noting any dents, dings, or scratches on a checklist. Do Audi service people do this too? If so...I'm going for the review of my car from the last visit. If nothing was noted....well....you can guess the rest....

I tend to believe the dealer, -but- when I showed the damage to the service manager he acted oblivious, like he had not seen it before. This suggests he didn't do a walk-around my car prior to the work being done. If so then it's up to me to fix it.

IF he did do a walk-around, would there be a record of it? And if I were to suddenly drop in and ask to see it...would the dealer be required to show it to me? If there was a record and my car showed as "free of dents and scratches", and yet my car has these 7 dents, would the dealer be liable? Just asking....

Insist on it even if they don't. Almost burned once many years ago and have always made them sign off since then regardless of their policy.

Actually, I think I get good service because of the 18 y/o scotch I gave him after a particularly difficult service visit.
