So don't knock me but I'm in NYC and it's freezing in the winter and hot as hell in the summer. I've set it to 75F for about 90% for the last 2 years and surprisingly it feels pretty good. My friend thinks I'm crazy, "You're gonna let some Germans tell you what temperature you're gonna be comfortable at"?!?!

Why would Audi, or anyone, recommend a temperature? Isn't the whole idea behind dual zone climate control to have it your way?

Sounds right, but... My experience says that temperature regulation is one of the most misused systems wither heating or cooling is the case. Most people would go to extreme in order to achieve certain temperature faster. That doesn't work that way and the result is unpleasant and unstable environment.

Where the temperature should be set depends on personal preferences and accuracy of involved components, but it shouldn't be changed all the times. Even better - never.

75°F (24°C) is a bit high for my taste. I keep it at 23°C (73°F). At my home too.

I understand not going to extremes. An oven won't preheat to 350 any faster with the dial turned to 500, but saying "even better - never" is a bit extreme. How our bodies feel temperature wise is the result of a lot of things - humidity, outside temp, did one exercise earlier, did you drink a lot last night... I don't run the temp to either extreme, but will go as low as about 66 and as high as 73 or 74. I'm human, not a robot.

Well yes. That "better - never" was an extreme in order to emphasize that it shouldn't be often changed.

Regarding robot vs human I would say that we should let our body to train it's systems at least a bit. If we can't live without air conditioning, sunglasses, air filters, we are pretty handicapped. That's kinda of North American specialty.

Geez your house is at 73? Love to see your heat bills in the winter...
Anyways, I keep the car at roughly 70 in the summer and 68-70 in the winter, in the summer even 70 can get chilly in my car.

I am in Vancouver, Canada. It's rarely really cold here. So bill's are OK.

You are preaching to the choir here. When it's warm, my windows are down on the car and the house - that is unless my wife is around - then the air has to come on. It's a constant struggle between us...

Glad to hear that. I mean that about windows, not about everlasting struggle. There is no help there. Believe me. I have some experience in that area.
