Came out of my office today to find that my right rear door has a door ding / dimple right in the middle of the door! I HATE IT WHEN THAT HAPPENS!!! I've been parking way away from others, park with plenty of space, etc... All the proper precautions! And it must have happened when some dork parked close enough for the back seat rugrats to disregard auto etiquette and leave their mark behind...
Okay -- rant over. Any success with paintless door ding repairs -- especially in the Houston area?

Went thru the same thing on mine, just higher up on the door from your description. Since by then I had collected another handful of less obvious dings, I got a local place to do a total of 5 or 6 total. Before I went in, I washed the car and thus looked over it all carefully and made a mental note of any ding I saw again. Only place they could not reach was just in front of the gas tank lid where there was something minor and it is completely walled off from behind. Couple hundred bucks for all of them. Well worth it, no broken paint and invisible afterwards.
No recommendations for Houston I'm afraid, but can definitely endorse the concept. In my case, had the body shop who did some prior work for me just subcontract w their guy. They confirmed way too much for conventional body work methods.

Last time I parked in the no man's land parking lot, when I got out, a freaking Honda parked real close to me and there are tons of empty parking spaces around. My wife brought up a good point, "some people can't park on an empty lot straight if they don't have a reference - like a car" and "some people always feel lonely" even when they park their cars. I don't know what to say, but I've been lucky, these people didn't dink my cars at all, it's just really creepy when there are 2 cars parked really close to each other in an empty parking lot.
I think you can do it yourself too. I saw a guy doing it with some bent screw driver, just need some control, patient, slowly but surely kind of thing.
Cheers,
Louis

Net, I would recommend a paintless repair. Perhaps you should check with your insurance agent or local Audi dealership for recommendations on the best body shop in the area or a person that specializes in this type of repair.

Make sure whoever you take it to can do it without drilling holes.

I've had PDR places insist drilling holes is the only way repair some dings. I don't know Audi's stance on PDR, but service manual for some cars does say PDR should not be attempted if a hole needs to be drilled.
