Default Energy Suspension Sway Bar Bushings

Energy Suspension offers sway bar bushings in all sizes and shapes. Their sway bar bushings look like they would fit on my sway bar. Has anyone tried an alternative way like this? I hate to have to drop $300 on the whole bar just to get new bushings. Their site shows tons of different sizes and one in particular that has the right dimensions for my bar. This is for a 2007 A8l. Thoughts, pros / cons?

What's the cost? Try it out and see how it works. Most sway bars don't have fused bushings and have no issues, so why did the A8 need it? Let's find out!

Because of the weight of the car and the physics involved. You cant have that much weight on a single point and have it last.

Now if you like changing sway bar bushings with every oil change, then get separate bushings.

Wouldnt HD trucks have the same issue? They arent fused and manage for 100k miles. I think we need to start problem solving. Ill be doing mine soon and will try new bushings.

For the price of bushings I'm gonna give it a shot. We'll see if it works.

I found a Moog bushing that says it fits the D3 front away bar. It also lists several other Audi models that it fits. I'm gonna give it a shot.

I forgot to mention the other reason they are bonded. No squeak with bonded bushings. On trucks. what is one squeak more or less. With the noise of the engine, you couldn't hear the squeaking from 1000 excited mice.

I've got all kinds of moans and groans with the bushings I have now, so I've got nothing to loose. For $15.34 - I think it's worth trying. I'll always appreciate Audi's engineering and design which is why I buy their vehicles. But to me - having to buy an entire sway bar just because the bushings are bad is crazy. If it works - great, I'll share the news so everyone else can benefit. If not - I'll still share the news so at least we know.

Get some graphite and apply liberally to the bushings when you install them.
