Euro parking lights, some help Please
2005 A8L W12
Enable Euro parking lights that turn on signal at night
[09 – Cent. Elect.] [Coding - 07] -> Long Coding Helper -> Byte 9
Bit 0 - Set to 1
OK here is my problem, I go into "09 Cent. Elect." then click on "07 coding", the box appears but there is no "long code helper" unless I click on drop down and pick the bottom one, then the long code helper is there, I click on it and that page only has 3 bytes, no number 9 to choose from.
what am I missing ? I have done TV,VIM,RVC,seat belt chime,lowered 20mm 15mm,ROW for fogs frt& rear with high beams, I just cannot get this long code helper.

Anyone ?
My 04 A8l 4.2 had it, I did not do it, nor did I know anything about it until one night when I signaled into a parking space and the stalk did not cancel, I had opened the door to get out and there was this steady chime sound, I checked all switches except turn stalk and nothing, so I got out and looked around and found the passenger side front and rear parking lights on , I thought it was a short, but then moved stalk to left position and only left front and rear on, so I came on here and found it was "Euro Setting", So why cant I do this for the 2005 ?

My 04 A8l 4.2 had it, I did not do it, nor did I know anything about it until one night when I signaled into a parking space and the stalk did not cancel, I had opened the door to get out and there was this steady chime sound, I checked all switches except turn stalk and nothing, so I got out and looked around and found the passenger side front and rear parking lights on , I thought it was a short, but then moved stalk to left position and only left front and rear on, so I came on here and found it was "Euro Setting", So why cant I do this for the 2005 ?

Thanks for the lite bulb you turned on in my head, I don't know why I did not check them after I added the ROW setting that let's me have fog lites front and rear with high beams on, I was thinking that being I could not do the code, I didn't have them, well guess what, I have euro parking lites, the outer rear's LED's and front 5 LED's illuminate at a lower power on either side I chose.

And you can enable/disable this as you wish? How is it enabled and disabled?
I would like to do this mod on account that I can continue using my standard bi-xenon high beams, as well as driving with only my fogs on (which I can do now).
So in total, switching from the current U.S. setting to ROW, only enables this parking feature correct? Doesn't change anything else I currently have. As for my car I have the stock headlights and tail-lights, so which is it that would light up?

I'm fairly sure....
when I left the UK it was illegal to park an unlit car on an unlit road at night, it also prevents confusion with which way the car is facing, as it's illegal there to park a car facing the flow of traffic at night too...
